This past month was extra chaotic with our move to the new apartment and I took a bit of a break from normal content creation through the month of April.
The good news is that the worst of the move is over and I’m getting back in the swing of making things! Something positive about not focusing on something for a while is that you can get a fresh perspective when you return to it. During this time away from the content schedule I’ve been aspiring to, I’ve realized that the current Enabler benefits – while cute and fun – haven’t felt right. The sheer amount of content I’ve been striving to make has also been a bit more than I can manage in the current state of things.
So, I am re-imagining new Enabler benefits that more directly help me grow as an artist while enabling me to better connect with and thank you for your support in an ongoing way.
To that end: I’m pausing all previous monthly-based content efforts for the time being and starting fresh with the following on a trial basis.
New Monthly Content Goals for Enablers
- Produce a polished Anne Dorko style cover for release on Spotify monthly.
- One original song transcribed to sheet music in PDF format.
- Letters! I really love writing letters to stay connected and I aim to write a new one for enablers every 1-2 weeks.
I am also working on fun Discord-related benefits and integrations for Enablers through a custom bot to create a better community space for us, but I don’t have an expected release date for that yet.
How does this affect you?
For the Spotify cover:
- Enablers on all tiers get to submit cover suggestions and I’ll pick my favorite for that month!
- Once the song is ready, 5€+ tiers get the MP3 downloads before it is published on Spotify and to the rest of the world.
Sheet music will be made available to Enablers first, as well. I’m not sure when and where else I may eventually publish them, but at least one new sheet will go up on the Enabler dashboard per month.
Additional Content Benefits
I am still running the Mind the Artist podcast! It’s simply not on a schedule at the moment and I can’t realistically put it on one right now. You’ll continue to get episodes as MP3 downloads (they are only available for streaming for the rest of the world).
The same goes for any other content I manage to create outside of these minimal monthly content goals. If it’s possible to give new content to you early or provide you with deeper access or any extras, you’ll have access to those things through your dashboard.
This includes the original music I will continue to write and produce live on Twitch every week, whenever they are ready for official release! I don’t want to put a rush on those songs, which is why I thought doing monthly covers might be a fun way to continue working on new music without needing to put pressure on writing new originals at a breakneck pace.
What do you think?
Change is never easy, but I’m hoping these new benefits are a bit more fun and interactive, while directly contributing to the music I’m able to release on Spotify on a regular basis. Thank you for making me feel comfortable exploring and trying new things. Please let me know if you have any ideas for me to continue improving on this idea, and what makes you most (or least) excited about it! This journey should be a win-win for all of us.
